Ingredients
- 1 lb raw large shrimp, peeled and deveined (large size)
- Creole Cajun Seasoning, store bought
- 6 tablespoons butter, unsalted
- 4 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 1 small shallot, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
- 8 cloves of garlic, minced or pressed
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 2 tablespoons white miso paste
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons parsley, freshly chopped, divided
- For serving: crusty bread or pasta
Instructions
- Pat dry the shrimp with paper towel. Transfer to a bowl, season with Cajun seasoning. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Toss to coat and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to an hour.
- Heat a large skillet on medium heat. Add remaining olive oil. Add the shrimp and cook 1-2 minutes on each side or until pink and opaque. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
- Add the butter and chopped shallot, sauté for about 2-3 minutes or until translucent and lightly caramelizes.
- Add in garlic, and stir for about 30s to 1 minutes or until fragrant. Add red pepper flakes at this point.
- Deglaze the skillet by adding lemon juice and white wine. Scrape up those delicious bits from the bottom.
- Bring to a simmer, and simmer for about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the chicken broth and add in the miso paste. Give it a good mix and cook for about 2-3 minutes, stirring often.
- Add the sautéed shrimp into the pan along with any juices and chopped parsley. Toss to coat and cook for 1 more minute. Remove from heat.
- Garnish with remaining parsley. Serve immediately with warm, crusty bread, cooked rice or pasta.
