Crab Stuffed Shrimp – Ingredients

Shrimp: Look for jumbo or colossal shrimp. They’re easier to stuff, and they look fantastic on the plate.

Crab: Fresh lump crab meat is ideal. You can find this at the seafood counter, and it’s worth the money. If fresh isn’t available, high-quality canned crabmeat does the trick, too.

Baked Stuffed Shrimp with Crabmeat – Tips

Pat it dry: Patting your shrimp and crabmeat dry before stuffing helps the filling stick better.

Toothpick helpers: If you’re worried about the butterflied shrimp opening during cooking, secure them with a toothpick.

The broil boost: Want a gorgeous golden crust on top? Pop the shrimp under the broiler for a minute or two at the end.

For the Ritz crackers use breadcrumbs or panko, just about ½ cup.

Prepare the Filling ahead of time: Bake the shrimp within next day or freeze and cook within 3 months.

Crab Stuffed Shrimp – FAQs

Can I make this ahead of time?

Absolutely! Prep the stuffed shrimp and refrigerate them for a few hours before baking. This actually infuses the flavors more beautifully.

What if I don’t like Old Bay seasoning?

No worries! Substitute Cajun seasoning, Creole seasoning, or even a sprinkle of paprika, garlic powder, and a little cayenne.

Do I have to butterfly the shrimp?

Butterflying helps keep the stuffing secure, but if you’re short on time, you can gently mound the stuffing right on top of the whole shrimp.
