Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lbs shrimp, peeled and deveined (large size)
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp green onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 3 Tbsp mirin
  • 1 tsp sriracha
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 Tbsp honey
  • 1 1/2 tsp ginger, peeled, minced
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, add in mirin, water, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sriracha, cornstarch, garlic and ginger. Whisk until well combined.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil. Once hot, add shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Flip the shrimp and cook for another 30 seconds. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  4. Give the sauce a nice stir and pour it over the shrimps. Stir well and cook for 1-2 minutes or until shrimp through and the sauce is thickened as desired.
  5. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
  6. Enjoy immediately with steamed rice or broccoli or roasted asparagus.
